For farmers and gardeners who have been working hard in the past month to get their plots growing, a usual foe is expected to show up again this year with an undying appetite for green leaves.
The small but mighty grasshoppers are eating machines that can decimate crops if left unchecked, but the Big Horn County Weed and Pest Department is here to help. The department will host two meetings in Lovell, on Friday, June 10, from 7 to 10 a.m. and on Monday, June 13, from 4 to 6 p.m. Both meetings will be at the Lovell Annex.
The Weed and Pest Department will be selling products for grasshopper control on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents may pre-order supplies by calling 765-2855.
