Lovell High School students will celebrate Homecoming 2011 next week to the theme “Here Comes the Boom,” student council sponsor Katie Hernandez reported this week.
As usual, the week will include fun dress-up days. Monday is Neon Day, with students dressing in bright colors. Students will decorate halls Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday is Fake an Injury Day, followed Wednesday by Super Villain Day.
Thursday is Class Color Day as follows: freshmen, green; sophomores, purple; juniors, red; and seniors, black. Friday will be Blue and White Day.
The annual pep rally for the student body and community is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 15, at the LHS Johnny Winterholler Gym from 7-8:15 p.m. The spirit walk from the elementary school to the high school will begin around 6:45, Hernandez said, but with longtime organizer Josephine Crosby scheduled to be out of town for her son’s wedding, school officials were still deciding Tuesday whether to hold the annual chili and scones dinner.
A bonfire, with snacks provided by the Bulldog Booster Club, will immediately follow the pep rally, lasting until around 9:30 p.m., and Hernandez said there will also be a car bash during the bonfire with proceeds going to the student council.
Friday’s schedule includes the homecoming football game against the Lyman Eagles at 7 p.m. followed by a dance at the high school gym lobby with music provided by Brett Savage.
The volleyball team will play at Rocky Mountain Tuesday at 4, 5 and 6 p.m. and will host Riverside Friday at 2, 3 and 4 p.m.
