Ruth Fillerup Mangus died after a prolonged battle with uterine cancer on Oct. 22, 2011, in Longmont, Colo.
Ruth was born May 8, 1941, in Lovell to Marvan Layne and Loraine Moore Fillerup. She was the fifth of five daughters born to them.
She was raised in Lovell, except for a short time during World War II, while her father worked in California. She attended Lovell schools until her senior year, when she went to live with her sister Luella in Phoenix, where she graduated. Ruth was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints and held many positions willingly serving others.
Funeral services were held in the Louisville, Colo. LDS Church, Saturday Oct. 29, 2011. Interment was in the Louisville Cemetery, Louisville, Colo. Howe Mortuary of Lafayette, Colo. was in charge of funeral arrangements.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gerald Hoffman Mangus, her son Joseph Mangus, her sister Loraine Fillerup Haggen and her grandsons Orion Colligan and Allen Mangus. She is survived by her remaining children, Ruth Ann Mangus, Gerald Henry Mangus, Vennie Mangus and Camilla Moyer; grandchildren Charlotte Merrick, Frederick Merrick, Cheyenne Moyer, Danielle Moyer, Sean Moyer and Ethan Mangus; and her great-granddaughter Tayla Rasmussen. She is also survived by her sisters Luella (Dale) Schutt of Colstrip, Mont., May (Norald) Emmett of Lovell, and Jane (John) Welch of Santiago, Chile, and Mountain Home, Idaho.
