Joyce House Duvall, 57, of Sheridan died on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at her home surrounded by her husband and family. She was born Jan. 1, 1955 and raised in Lovell. She married Frank Florez in 1973 and had three children. They later divorced.
Joyce moved to Sheridan in 1989. She worked at Perkins and the Silver Spur Café, where she met the love of her life and married Phil Duvall on January 16, 1993.
In 1997 Joyce went to work at The Sheridan Palace where she worked until October 4, 2009, when she had to retire due to health reasons. She then went to work part-time at Harbor Chiropractic and La Bella Salon.
Joyce enjoyed having her family around her all of the time. She loved the sound of her grandchildren’s laughter, gardening, helping others, being involved in church activities, teaching her young women, and being a den leader for her Scouts. She loved Hawaii, lying on the beach listening to the waves, and loved the long walks on the beach with her husband Phil.
Joyce is survived by her husband Phil Duvall, of Sheridan; two brothers, Jim House of Sheridan and John House of Tekoa, Wash.; one daughter, Melissa Florez of Roanoke, Va., and three sons; Gerry and Eric Florez of Sheridan and Jeff Duvall of Sheridan. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, one nephew and three nieces.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Kane Funeral Home. Funeral Services for Joyce will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Roger Brinkerhoff officiating. A viewing will be held at 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the church.
