A North Big Horn Hospital official confirmed this week that Dr. David Hoffman is no longer a part of the medical staff at the hospital and clinic and the New Horizons Care Center.
CEO Rich Schroeder said in a statement issued Monday, “Dr. Hoffman has notified the facility he has resigned. The clinic has contacted every patient who has an appointment with him and offered to reschedule those appointments so our patients can be seen by another provider in our clinic.”
“He resigned,” Schroeder said in a follow-up phone interview Tuesday. “We are taking steps to contact all of his patients and are ready to take care of them including patients who see him regularly for a medical condition.”
Hoffman has been with the hospital since 1994.
Schroeder said the hospital will now begin the process of filling Hoffman’s place on the staff.
“We have contacted recruiters,” he said. “We’re looking at different ways of doing that. We’re in the beginning stages of looking at different staffing models. We have an opportunity to look at how we provide medical care.”
Dr. Hoffman had not responded to an offer from the Chronicle to comment by press time on Wednesday.
“We wish him well,” Schroeder said.
