Ruth Wardell Reynolds died on July 4, 2012. She was born in East Millcreek, Salt Lake City, Utah, on July 22, 1917, to George Aaron Wardell and Annie Charlotte Atkinson Wardell. She was the second of their five children.
Ruth spent her life in the service of others, willing to help any and all who came into her life. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she was faithful to her convictions, loving and loyal to her friends and family, kind and generous, industrious, courageous, strong and loving, facing all adversity with optimistic faith and determination. She was an incredible example to us all. She was an amazing, thoughtful, wonderful woman who will be deeply missed by those whose lives she touched.
Ruth had eight children who were the light of her life. She outlived two husbands and three children. Her first husband was Bryce Carroll Reynolds. They had three children: Richard Bryce Reynolds, George Robert “Bob” Reynolds (deceased), and Michael Bruce Reynolds (deceased). Her second husband was Kenneth Tarvel Reynolds. They had five children: Ruth Carol Reynolds Aagard, David Kim Reynolds, Timothy Kent Reynolds, Mark Tarvel Reynolds, and Paul Royal Reynolds (deceased).
She is survived by her brother Hal Wardell, her sister Annie Hanson, five children, 38 grandchildren, 110 great-grandchildren, 36 great-great- grandchildren and at least nine great-great-great-grandchildren.
On July 4, 2012, she was cheerfully fixing lunch, sat down and peacefully passed from this life to the next.
There was a viewing at Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell on July 7, 2012. Her funeral was held at the LDS. Chapel in Sterling, Utah, on Tuesday, July 10. Burial was in the Sterling Cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
