Day of Good Will begins Saturday

The second Day of Good Will organized by local churches begins Saturday in Lovell.

The “free garage sale” event to assist local families will be held Saturday, Aug. 4, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. as well as evenings – 6-9 p.m. – the following week, Aug. 6-10, at the LDS Gym on Shoshone Avenue in Lovell.

Those wishing to help in the effort are asked to gather gently worn clothes and small appliances, books and toys and bring them to the gym Thursday and Friday, Aug. 2-3, from noon to 8 p.m.

People are asked to not bring televisions or other electronics.

Committee member Susan Peck emphasized this week that the ecumenical event is a “community” day of good will involving all churches who wish to participate, and anybody can help during the sorting this week and the sale days Saturday and next week.

“This gym is the only place we could do it,” she said. “It is not affiliated with a particular denomination.”
