Sharon Jean Hensley Averett, 71, of Soda Springs, Idaho, died on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at her home.
Sharon was born on Nov. 9, 1940, in Blackwell, Okla., the daughter of Marion Ishmael and Fern Asay Hensley.
She attended school in Bremerton, Wash. and Blackwell, Okla., and went to junior high school in Bremerton. She attended high school in Lovell through 10th grade.
Sharon married Jerold Asay Averett on Aug. 10, 1957, in Lovell.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served as Ward Secretary and various other positions.
Sharon was also a member of the Red Hat Society and the Soda Springs Golf Club. She enjoyed quilting, bowling and golfing. She loved her family and always made holidays and birthdays special and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Jerold of Soda Springs, Idaho, one son, Wayne (Lori) Averett of Pocatello and two daughters, Lynda Kaye Armstrong of Pocatello and Lynette Averett (Bill Swett) of Granger. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a brother Stanley Hensley and a sister Joyce Hensley Johnson. She was preceded in death by son, Mac Averett, sister Beverly Hensley and her parents.
Services were held on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at the Soda Springs LDS Stake Center. Burial was at the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs.
Services were under the direction of the Sims Funeral Home.
