March 26, 1926 – Oct. 8, 2012
Arlene Lucille Tyrrell, 86, of Lovell, died on Oct. 8, 2012, at North Big Horn Hospital in Lovell. Arlene was born March 26, 1926, to Lula Belle (Howard) and Joseph William Magnusson in Midwest, Wyo. She grew up on a farm at Recluse and attended school in Gillette as a teen.
She married Joe Tyrrell on Oct. 18, 1943. They were married 56 years. Three children were born to this union, Ronald (Barbara) Tyrrell of Forest Grove, Oregon, David (Patty) Tyrrell of Shell and Jolene (Gary) Parker of Evanston, Wyo., all of whom survive.
Arlene is survived by three sisters, Beaulah Walker, Josephine Fulton and Arrilla Ford; one brother, Jack Magnusson; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, as well as one great-great-granddaughter.
Arlene and Joe had a great love for nature and spent many hours outdoors hunting rocks, fishing, camping and just tramping around in the hills. Arlene loved to garden and share her houseplants. She collected frogs from the time she was a little girl, and said she liked frogs because “they always looked happy.”
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, Oct. 13, at 10 a.m. at Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell.
