Gerry Tippetts was born to George and Vaughn Tippetts at their home near Lovell on March 4, 1937. He was one of a set of twins. He died Oct. 12, 2012.
Gerry went through school in Lovell and after graduation, he went to school in Pocatello, Idaho, learning welding and mechanics. He came back to Lovell to help run the farm and dairy at his parents’ farm. He married Rose Mae Stamm on June 18, 1960.
He worked at the Coast To Coast store, then got a job with the Wyoming Highway Dept., where he worked for 27 years. Gerry was a volunteer fireman for 35 years.
Gerry and his family have been members of the Lovell Third Ward since they were married. The family was sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on July 24, 1974.
Gerry was preceded in death by his parents and twin brother Jerry.
He is survived by his wife Rose Mae of Lovell, son Clay (Marlitt) Tippetts of Salt Lake City, daughters Penny Jolley of Lovell, Jana (Mike) Bloch of Lovell, LeAnn (Chad) Aagard of Casper, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, sister Sandra (Bob) Dodds of Oregon and multiple nieces and nephews.
He was a good man and will be missed by his family and community.
Services were held Tuesday, October 16, at 2 p.m. at the Lovell LDS Stake Center with Bishop Steve McArthur officiating. Burial followed at the Lovell Cemetery.
