Nov. 15, 1933 –Nov. 21, 2012
Eugeneo “Eugene” Padilla was born Nov. 15, 1933, in Lovell and died Nov. 21, 2012.
Eugene was one of 11 children born to Jesus and Senona Montanez Padilla. At a very early age he began working and soon learned an amazing work ethic that followed him the rest of his life. He worked many jobs in his life but found his true passion in gardening and landscaping. His “green thumb” talents could be seen in many yards in Lovell. He found a peace and solace in manicuring a lawn to perfection.
In September 1974, he met Christine Hefenieder of Billings at a dance. They were married in November 1974. To this couple, daughter Jennifer was born in 1976. This would create a great and never-ending union known as P3.
Eugene loved life and family gatherings. Big and small were important to him. The most enjoyable times were his vacations he took with Jennifer and Christine. Las Vegas was his favorite place and he loved looking at the lights on the marquees. He would wait for the elusive “big win” in Vegas. He never hit “the big one” but continued to enjoy his time there.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Christine, and daughter Jennifer of Lovell; his son, Eugene Jr., and special daughter-in-law Karen of Ogden, Utah, and their children and families and also by special niece Arlene and nephews Leon, Mark and Ross.
“Papa, you fought a hard long battle with courage. I fought each day beside you. I never thought we would lose, but we did. I have loved you each day of my life and will continue to. Thank you for being ‘my dad.’ P3 always. Forever, Jennifer
