Jared Knudsen has joined the Lovell Police department. Knudsen has already started his field training and is expected to enter the police academy in April of next year.
Knudsen worked as a detention officer in his home state of Idaho. He grew up in Pocatello and spent most of his life there. He has family in Powell, including a brother-in-law who is a police officer there.
“I look forward to helping people and, of course, making sure they are not breaking the law,” said Knudsen.
His wife Lauren and their 19-month-old daughter Alexis will join him in the near future. He and his family plan to make Lovell their home.
Knudsen likes to hunt and fish and looks forward to taking advantage of those opportunities in Wyoming. He likes to work out with weights and any type of physical activity.
“He definitely impressed the hiring committee,” said Lovell Police Chief Nick Lewis. “He came to us highly recommended. He is intelligent, eager and we’re excited to have him on board. I think he will be good for our community.”
