Feb. 17, 1935 – Dec. 8, 2012
Gary Keith Mumford, 77, of Lovell, died Dec. 8, 2012, at North Big Horn Hospital.
Gary, the oldest of three children, was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Myron Wardell Mumford and Vera Mae Leavitt on Feb. 17, 1935. At the age of 11, Gary lost his father, so he quit school and started working to help support his family.
At the age of 18, Gary and his family moved to Lovell. In 1959 he married Beverly Brown. To this union one son was born (Myron). They were later divorced.
In 1966, Gary met and married Jeanette Rasmussen. To this union two children were born, Rick and Nancy. Gary hauled hay for many years and enjoyed doing so. He worked at various bentonite plants and other jobs, retiring while working at Frost Construction in Lovell.
Gary loved fishing, hunting, camping and being with family and friends. He never met a person that he didn’t like or wasn’t willing to help out in one way or another.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, sister Jackie, special brother-in-law Vic and one nephew. He is survived by one sister, Shirley, of Salt Lake; children Myron (Julie) of Lovell, Rick (Adriene) of Cowley and Nancy (Darren) Black of Palmer, Alaska; six grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. at the Lovell Stake Center (viewing one hour prior) with burial in the Cowley Cemetery.
