Jessie M. Banks, 75, of Morton, Ill., died on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.
She was born May 10, 1937, in Kewanee, Ill., to Clarence Wilbur and Mabel Adell (McVey) Pankake. She married A.P. Pryde on May 10, 1956, in Springfield. Ill. He preceded her in death in 1988. She later married Lewis A. Banks in Sept. 1991 in Lovell. He preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 2004. She also was preceded in death by one great-grandchild, her parents and one brother.
Surviving are one daughter Jo Ann (Joe) Leonard of Morton; one granddaughter Cori (Jack) Bridgmon of Pekin, Ill.; four great-grandchildren Jackie, Myles, Vanessa and Derek; six step-grandchildren; two sisters LaDora Hawkins of East Peoria, Ill., and Adell Moore of Peoria; two brothers David (Anita) Pankake of Texas and Clarence Miller of Peoria and several nieces and nephews.
Also surviving are her fur babies, Pleasure and Lyric.
Jessie was the office manager at Service Master in East Peoria for five years, retiring in 2008. Prior to this, she worked several years as a lunch room lady in Lovell.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Morton, where services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, with Bishop Jeff Braun officiating. Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton, and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial followed at Roberts Cemetery in Morton.
