Cloreen Suzanne McGuire died on Jan. 26, 2013, at her home in Lovell, as a result of a fall. Cloreen was born April 15, 1947, in Belle Fourche, S.D., to Thomas and Loretta Hansen Freed. She was the oldest of five children. She graduated from Newcastle High School in 1965.
After graduation, she attended beauty school in Miles City, Mont. Once completing beauty school, she returned to Newcastle where she met Phillip McGuire. The two were married on Sept. 9, 1968.
Cloreen and Phil resided in Newcastle where their first child, Phil, was born. A short time later they moved to Lovell where their second child, Lori, was born. During the children’s younger years, Cloreen was able to devote her time to caring for them. Once her kids started school, she began to fulfill her dream as a beautician.
She worked in many salons in Lovell then finally spread her wings and opened her first of many shops. She was a well-known and liked person who always had a smile on her face. Later in life she found a new love – grandsons. Cloreen loved spending time with Christopher and Tristan. She loved camping in the Big Horns, playing baseball, Monopoly and pool with her grandsons.
Cloreen was a very special person who will be missed by many. She most cherished her family and friends.
Cloreen was preceded in death by her husband, Phil, her parents and one sister.
Cloreen is survived by her son, Phil McGuire of Newcastle; her daughter, Lori (Skip) Largent of Cody; grandsons Christopher and Tristan Largent of Cody; brothers Tom (Gwenda) Freed of Williston, N.D., Rick (Pam) Freed of Newcastle and Dennis (Sharon) Freed of Belle Fourche; several nieces and nephews and, of course, all her many friends.
