Edward Kay Sigmon was born July 16, 1940, to Eldredge and Jessie Sigmon of Powell. He died March 2, 2013, at his home in Cowley. He was raised in Lovell with his brother Larry and sister Sharon. They were raised on a farm outside of Lovell.
He moved to Lovell when he was 8 years old and went to school until the ninth grade. He worked on a farm and then worked for the railroad until he was disabled. Kay lived life his way with family and friends. He married Anita Erickson, and lived outside Cowley until her death.
He loved going to the mountains or just driving on country roads with his companion of 10 years, Betty Sisk. He also enjoyed getting together with family and friends.
Kay was preceded in death by his parents, sister and niece.
He is survived by his brother Larry (Sharon) Sigmon of Arma, Kan., and his sister Sharon Hallman of Lovell; his daughter Tammy Cheney of Oklahoma; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
