Sept. 22, 1935 – March 10, 2013
Cowley resident Beverly Rae Fuller (Kunkel) died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at New Horizons Care Center in Lovell from Alzheimer’s-related complications.
Bev was born to Frank and Bernita Kunkel on Sept. 22, 1935 in New Market, Pa. She grew up in the Harrisburg, Pa. area until 1957 when she married Donald Newcomer. They moved to California where they raised two children, Susan and David, in Simi Valley. Following divorce she moved to Cowley, where she met and married John Fuller. During that time they owned the Waterhole #1 bar. They divorced and Bev returned home to Pennsylvania for several years. She returned to Cowley and they remarried in 1986 where they lived together until her stay at New Horizons began in 2009.
Bev had an artistic flare that she displayed by her sense of fashion and passion for clothes, shopping and shoes. She also toyed with painting and other various craft projects throughout her life. Once she settled into the Wyoming lifestyle, Bev discovered gardening, canning, and working on the family ranch. She and John spent quality time camping and fishing. Bev really enjoyed her card and birthday clubs and the friendships she made there. Bev was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, daughter-in-law Kathy O’Day and stepson Mark Fuller.
She is survived by two brothers, Dean and Gary Kunkel and their families in Pennsylvania and S. Carolina respectfully; daughter, Sue Acosta (Steve) of Simi Valley, and their children Gabe (Christina), Danielle (Daniel) and Chris (Jacqi) along with three great-grandchildren; son, David Newcomer of Simi Valley, and his children, Matthew (Dee Dee), Brian (Diana), and Katie Rae and another two great-grandchildren as well as the extended Fuller family.
