Oct. 24, 1955 – Aug. 23, 2013
Betty Louise Anderson was born Oct. 24, 1955, to Estel and Glea Mayes when the family lived on West Second Street in Lovell, which is just across the street from where they later moved in 1959. She was named after two of her mother’s childhood friends, Betty and Louise Godfrey, from Cincinnati, Ohio, where they all grew up together.
Betty died late in the morning on Aug. 23, 2013, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Betty chose to spend her last days at home under the care and love of her family and later the support of hospice care. She leaves behind her husband, Rex, of 40 years; her son Rex of Cowley; her grandson Michael of Cowley and Billings; her daughters Tina (Troy) Nicholson and Rachael (Kory Rigby) and grandchild-to-be of Lovell. Betty is also survived by her sisters, Annella (Nelson) St. Thomas, Wilma (Steve) Egert of Lovell and Dellie (Mike) Hecker of Ft. Morgan, Colo.; her brother Jim (Anita) of Lovell and many nieces and nephews, who loved their Aunt Boo.
Betty was preceded in death by her father in August of 1984, her brother Clete in April of 1999 and her mother in July of 2009. She leaves behind a community of cousins, along with Rex’s family, who will miss her and remember her forever.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Aug. 26, at the Lovell LDS Stake Center. Burial was in the Lovell Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.haskellfuneralhome.com.
