Day of Good Will starts Saturday

The third annual Day of Good Will organized by local churches begins Saturday in Lovell.

The clothing giveaway event to assist local families will be held on Saturday, Aug. 3, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., as well as evenings, 6-9 p.m., the following week, Aug. 5-9, at the LDS Gym on Shoshone Avenue in Lovell.

Those wishing to help in the effort are asked to gather gently worn clothes and small appliances, books and toys and bring them to the gym Thursday and Friday, Aug. 1-2, from noon to 8 p.m.

People are asked to not bring televisions or other electronics.

Committee member Susan Peck emphasized this week that the ecumenical event is a “community” day of good will involving all churches who wish to participate, and anyone can help during the sorting this week and on the sale days Saturday and next week.

“In fact, if you can help fold or sort your donations, it would be greatly appreciated,” she said.
