A car show, wellness booths, blood screening results, flu shots and more will highlight the 2013 Lovell Community Health Fair this year. The event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Lovell Community Center. Wyoming Health Fairs and North Big Horn Hospital sponsor the health fair jointly.
Individuals who took advantage of the reduced price blood draw program over the past few weeks can pick up the results of their preventative tests at the fair. Medical providers from North Big Horn Hospital will be available at the fair to discuss lab results and answer questions people may have, as well as Dr. David Hoffman, from Hoffman-Snyder TLC. Free blood pressure checks will be available by NWC student nurses at the clinic table.
The health fair will also offer information for individuals who did not participate in the blood draw program. Numerous health education booths, demonstrations and free screenings will be available. For parents, kid safety booths and car seat inspections will be available. Information about Vitamin D testing, Lifeline Medical Alert services, TOPs, cancer treatment resources and women’s wellness, and Mental Health Services will also be available.
A representative from North Big Horn Hospital business office will be available to assist people to access their electronic medical record and to explain this new service.
The Children’s Resource Center will have a developmental screening booth set up, and Children’s Head Start will also be present to enroll children in their program.
Numerous drawings for prizes will take place. The annual event is free and open to the general public.
Approximately 350 individuals are expected to attend. Around 700 took advantage of the reduced price blood screening that was made available.
