Jan. 4, 1940 –Dec. 11, 2013
Edith Colleen Woodard was born Jan. 4, 1940, and lived until Dec. 11, 2013.
Edith was born and raised in Lovell, the daughter of Arneva and Harley Irwin, and her siblings are sister Terry Cooper (Darrell), brother Tom Irwin (Shauna, deceased), and sister Gayle Warren (Lloyd). Edith was married to Donald Asay Blackburn (deceased). They had three children together: Harley Blackburn, Daniel Blackburn (deceased) and Brenda Lorash (Eddie). Edith had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Edith was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and her spouse Larry Woodard lived in Laurel, Mont. for the past 20 years. She raised a Better Homes and Gardens yard full of flowers grown from seed. She did genealogy for countless loved ones, and temple work was top priority for the past five years.
Edith had, at times, met with hardship in her life. She amazingly turned her life around in the 11th hour of her life and has lived free from a life of addiction for the past six years. She received a temple recommend and married her husband in the Billings Montana Temple. She loved seeing temple workers and friends from Lovell on Tuesdays.
Edith died peacefully with loved ones around her. She is now at rest from her two-year battle with cancer. A lovely ceremony at Haskell Funeral Home was held on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 10 a.m. Weather did not permit some loved ones to attend a full service. We love you Mother, Grandmother and friend; we will love you for time and all eternity.
