Local churches hold Christmas services

Local churches will hold special Christmas services and programs this weekend and next week.

ChristmasNativityThe annual Lovell Stake Christmas Concert presented by the local wards of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be held Sunday, Dec. 22, at 7 p.m. in the East Chapel of the stake center in Lovell. Directed by Linnea Dickson, the community is invited to attend the special performance.

There will be four Christmas Eve services in north Big Horn County on Tuesday, Dec. 24:

St. Joseph’s Catholic Church will hold a Christmas Eve Mass at 4 p.m. Tuesday following confessions from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. St. Joseph’s will also hold a New Year’s Eve Mass at 4 p.m. on Dec. 31.

The Lovell-Deaver United Methodist Church will hold Christmas Eve candlelight services Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in Deaver and at 7 p.m. in Lovell.

St. John’s Lutheran Church will hold a Christmas Eve candlelight service with children participating at 7 p.m. on Dec. 24.

St. John’s will also hold a Christmas Day service at 10 a.m. on Dec. 25 and a New Year’s Eve communion service on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at 7:30 p.m.

Faith Southern Baptist Church will hold a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. Tuesday featuring music and a Christmas message.

The Lovell Assembly of God Church will feature special music presented by children this Sunday, Dec. 22 during the regular church service at 10:50 a.m., as well as a Christmas Day service with communion at 7 p.m. on Dec. 25.

The Lovell Bible Church held its Christmas cantata last Sunday and will hold regular services this Sunday: coffee and donuts at 8:15 a.m., the morning service at 9, Sunday school at 10:30 and the evening service at 6. There will be no prayer service on Christmas Day.
