Eva Barfoot, 83, of Lovell, died May 19, 2014. She was born Oct. 9, 1930, in Waco, Mo., to Earl and William Helen Smith.
She grew up in Glena, Kan., and moved to Nunn, Colo., in 1948, where she met her husband Alfred Barfoot. They were married on March 26, 1949, in Greeley. Eva and Alfred made their home northeast of Nunn, where they farmed until moving to Galeton, Colo., in January of 1961.
Eva loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed being outdoors, sewing, quilting, crocheting and knitting. Eva volunteered at the Triangle Ranch in Galeton and never met a stranger.
She worked for Bayly’s Manufacturing in Greeley in 1964. In 1977, she went to work at Kodak Colorado in Windsor, Colo., until retiring in 1987. Eva and Alfred moved to their present home at the foot of the Big Horn Mountains in Lovell in 1998.
Eva is survived by her loving husband Alfred of 65 years, her children, Barbara (Robert) Taylor, Debara (Ralph) Fink and Lee (Michelle) Barfoot, seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, sisters Helen Kineman of Nunn and Ann Mitchell of Ault, Colo., brothers John Smith of Los Angeles and Paul Smith of Ault, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Helen (Billie) Smith, sisters Bobbie Drane and Judy Smith and brothers Jesse, Earl and Jerry Smith.
Memorial services were held May 22, 2014, in Lovell, at Haskell Funeral Home and on May 27, at 2 p.m. graveside services were held in Greeley at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
