Nov. 24, 1933 – May 15, 2014
Francis John was born Nov. 24, 1933, the son of Kenneth Faye and Madge Lucille (Roberts) John. He spent his early life on the family ranch at Sarpy Creek east of Hardin, Mont., and attended school in Hardin.
After working in the oil fields near Riverton for several years, Francis joined the United States Air Force in January of 1956. On Dec. 14, 1958, he married Wilma Jean Patrick in Ogden, Utah. To this union three children were born. The family lived in many locations while he served in the military including Missouri, Japan, Colorado, Louisiana, New Mexico, Elmpht, Germany and at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana.
Following his retirement from the military he joined the Lovell Police Dept. in 1979, where he worked until 1992. At that time he returned to Montana and has been a resident of the Livingston area ever since.
In Francis’ later years, he found great comfort in the LDS Church, and on Sept. 11, 2011, he was sealed for eternity with his wife, Wilma, at the LDS Temple in Billings.
Francis was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, twins Orin and Orville John, and Irvin John; and his wife, Wilma Jean John, in 2008. Burial was Monday, May 19, in the Hardin Cemetery.
He is survived by son David John of Livingston, Mont.; daughters Denice Stokke of Lovell and Stacy Bjorndal of Billings; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
