A funeral service for Franklene Pitt was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday May 27, 2014, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center in Gillette with Bishop Matt Melinkovich officiating. Burial followed at 1 p.m. Wednesday May 28, at the Lovell Cemetery. Pitt, 67, of Gillette, died at her home in Gillette on May 22, 2014.
Franklene Pitt was born on Oct. 10, 1946, in Lovell to Frank and Elva (Workman) Anderson. She grew up in Thermopolis and graduated from Hot Springs County High School. She married William Pitt on April 19, 1968. The couple moved to Wright in 1979 and in 1997 moved to Gillette. Franklene worked as a custodian for Campbell County School District for many years.
She loved sewing and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Franklene is survived by her son William Pitt of Casper; daughters Karen Pitt of Casper, Kathy Bryan of Gillette and Billie Holden of Casper; step-daughters Teri Douglass of Coolidge, Ariz., and Kelle Shubitowski of North Pole, Alaska; brothers Brad Bonar of Shingle Springs, Calif., and Elvin Anderson of Casper; sisters Cheryl Babb of Fayetteville, N.C., Charlene Bales of Lander and Leah Anderson of Frannie; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, her mother, sister Betty Tjepkes, brother Kenny and her grandparents.
