The Lovell Community Center will be a beehive of activity this Saturday, May 3, as the first Outdoor Expo for Big Horn County showcases local outdoor opportunities through displays, booths and demonstrations.
Sponsored by Grow Big Horn County and Lovell Inc., the expo begins at 9 a.m. and runs through 4 p.m.
Admission is free.
Local vendors will showcase products and services during the expo, all outdoor activity related.
According to organizer Sue Taylor of Lovell Inc./Grow Big Horn County, those participating include Ray Messamer performing taxidermy demonstrations and talking about what to do – or not to do – before bringing a trophy animal or fish to a taxidermist.
There will also be a fly-tying demonstration by Dave Duffy of Lovell, a life member of the Federation of Fly Fishers who has tied flies for more than 40 years, and by Steve Rickert of North Fork Anglers of Cody.
Other vendors include CodeRed Tactical, One Stop Motor Sports with ATVs, Arrowhead RV, the National Park Service, the Friends of Big Horn Lake, the Lovell Rod and Gun Club and possibly the U.S. Forest Service, Taylor said.
“We recognize that outdoor sports are a big part of who we are, and this is a way to reinforce what we are known for,” Taylor said.
Door prizes will be offered during the expo.
