April 3, 1924 – Nov. 19, 2014
Edna Irene (Jones) Timmons was born April 3, 1924, to Edward and Jessie Blair (Mutter) Jones in Ishawooa, Wyo. She attended school at Ishawooa and Cody and later Casper Junior College and Northwest Community College in Powell.
Edna was employed by the State Department of Education in Cheyenne and Casper. She moved to Lovell following her marriage to Clyde Timmons. She was employed by the North Big Horn Hospital District in the Social Services and Activity departments until her retirement in 2000.
Her son Michael Timmons of Gillette survives Edna, and the loves of her life, her granddaughters Jesi Timmons (Andrew) Skretteberg of Laramie and Jada Timmons of Worland and their mother Tammy. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Raw Mae Jones, of Cody, her stepdaughters Peggy (Richard) Hitt and family, of Idaho, and Patricia (David) Newton, of Worland, and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Edna loved the Lord, her family and friends and all of her caregivers. She loved animals and nature. All of these things fulfilled and enriched her life. Without these her life would not have been so happy.
Jesi and Jada had a special name for Edna, “Grandma Round and Round,” because when they were little they would stand on the foot pedals of her wheelchair and hang on while Edna spun them round and round, with them always saying, again, again.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Edward and Elmore Jones, her granddaughter Jala Timmons, her stepdaughter Christina and stepsons Edwin and Dee Timmons.
Cremation has taken place and services are pending at this time. Haskell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
