Mr. Alexander was born in Dermont, Ark., on April 20, 1932. He was raised in Dermont and then resettled to Texas, where he met and married Rita. In 1972 they moved to Cody and eventually settled in Lovell. In 2004 Jim and Rita moved to Kingsport, Tenn., for retirement.
Mr. Alexander was a lifelong Freemason. He was a member of the Cody and Lovell Masonic lodges, the various York Rite bodies and was a 33rd degree Scottish Rite Mason. Jim spent countless hours working for the Shriners and helping disabled children. He loved his fraternal links and cherished them greatly.
When the time comes for Rita to join him, they will both be interred forever in the Tillar Cemetery located in Drew County, Tillar, Ark. At that time, Masonic graveside services will be performed. Until that day arrives, Mr. Alexander will reside on the fireplace mantel, where Rita will keep him informed of all that is going on.
