Items will be collected today (Thursday) and Friday for the fifth annual community Day of Goodwill in Lovell, organized by local churches.
The clothing giveaway to assist local families will be held this Saturday, Aug. 1, at the LDS gym on Shoshone Avenue, and donations will be collected Thursday and Friday, July 30-31, from noon to 5 p.m. each day.
Clothing and household goods will be available to the public at no cost from
8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 1 and on Aug. 3-6 from 6 to 8 p.m. Anything left over will be packed up on Friday, Aug. 7.
Those wishing to help in the effort are asked to gather gently worn clothes and household items and bring them to the gym next Thursday and Friday. People are asked to not bring televisions or other electronics.
“We invite everyone to help us,” said committee member Susan Peck, who emphasized that the ecumenical event is a “community” day of goodwill involving all churches who wish to participate, and anyone can help during the sorting next week and on the sale days the following week.
Those bringing donations next week are asked to help fold and place the clothes, if they are able. For more information, call Peck at 548-2809.
