Lady Grizz netters defeat Cloud Peak and Greybull

The Rocky Mountain Lady Grizzly eighth-grade volleyball squad defeated Cloud Peak and Greybull at home to open up the 2015 season Friday.

Rocky defeated Greybull 21-18, 21-17 and Cloud Peak 21-19, 17-21, 23-21 to start the season 2-0.

“I’m really looking forward to this group of eighth-graders,” coach Jenny Christiansen said. “They’re really working hard and setting some good goals. We have a lot of girls out this year and it’s really exciting.”

The Lady Grizz will host Ten Sleep Friday at 2 p.m. then will host Meeteetse Saturday at 9 a.m.

Hoover places 16th in Lander

Lovell junior Lane Hoover shot a 95 the first day and a 93 the second to place 16th with a total score of 188 at the Lander Invitational Golf Tournament Thursday and Friday.

Senior Hunter Tippetts shot a 90 the first day but did not compete on the second day. No other Lovell golfers competed, according to final tournament scoring.

Coach Craig Lundberg was not available to provide any further details or comments.

The Bulldogs will travel to the Buffalo Invitational starting today (Thursday) and continuing on Friday. The 3A West Regional Tournament is Sept. 18-19 in Pinedale.
