Ora Grace Christensen Blackburn, 91, died at the home of her daughter Pam on Nov. 25, 2015, in Billings.
Ora was born Aug. 23, 1924, in Chapin, Idaho, to Nean and Martha Moulton Christensen. She married Hyrum Asay Blackburn Jan. 8, 1946, in the Idaho Falls Temple. Ora and Hyrum made their home in Lovell from 1946-1955. Hyrum’s employment in the oil business took their family to multiple places around the globe including Colorado and overseas to Tripoli, Libya.
Ora was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities. Her example and testimony brought great strength and faith to her posterity.
She loved cooking, gardening and sewing. She always said her greatest treasure was her family, and she took great pride in them.
Ora was preceded in death by her parents, husband Hyrum A. Blackburn, sons Ted C. and Hyrum C. Blackburn, two sisters, eight brothers and a great-granddaughter.
She was loved and will be missed by her sister May Brinkerhoff of Lovell; her children, Ann (Ken) Onstott of The Dalles, Ore., Pam (Wes) Baird of Billings, Dean (Lori) Blackburn of Springville, Utah, and daughter-in-law Vicki Blackburn Richards of Lewisville, Idaho; 21 grandchildren and 56 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Nov. 30, 2015, at Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell. Interment was in the Lovell Cemetery.
