Fuller brothers qualify for state swimming

Five swimmers from the local area competed for the Powell Panthers boys swimming team at a dual meet Friday in Worland.

Seth Fuller, a senior at Rocky Mountain High School, qualified for State in the 200 IM, winning the event with a time of 2:09.86, and in the 100-yard butterfly, winning the event in 58.62 seconds. He also participated on the 200-medley relay A team that won the event in 1:52.41 and on the 400-yard freestyle relay team that finished in 3:49.92.

Fuller broke the PHS school record in the 100-yard backstroke at the PHS Invitational, winning the event with a time of 57.7 seconds.

Jared Fuller, a sophomore at Rocky, qualified for the state meet in the 200-yard freestyle, winning the event with a time of 2:13.48, and placed sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke, touching the wall in 1:24.29. He also participated on the 200 freestyle relay D team that won the event in 1:58.26 and on the 400 freestyle relay B team that finished the race in 4:22.18.

Chris Lopez, a freshman at Lovell High School, placed sixth in the 100 freestyle, touching the wall in 1:00.73, and placed fourth in the 100-yard backstroke, swimming in at 1:16.98. He also participated on the 200 medley relay B team that placed third with a time of 2:06.04 and on the 200 freestyle relay A team that finished with a time of 1:48.28.

Hudson Wilkerson, a sophomore at Lovell, placed second in the one-meter-dive with a score of 177.4 points and placed fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke, touching the wall in 1:22.68. He also participated on the 200-medley relay C team that placed fourth with a time of 2:26.75 and on the 400 freestyle relay D team that placed third with a time of 5:19.9.

Dillinger Wilkerson, also a sophomore at Lovell, placed sixth in the 50-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 30 seconds flat, and placed third in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:22.3, just .38 seconds faster than his brother. He also participated on the 200-medley relay C team with Hudson Wilkerson and on the 200 freestyle relay D team with Jared Fuller.

Next up for the Panthers will be a home dual meet against Cody Friday at 5 p.m. Saturday, Powell will travel to Worland for the Worland Invite, starting
at 10 a.m.
