Lovell, Wyoming is located in NW Wyoming near the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area. The town itself has around 2,500 residents, with several hundred more people living in the rural areas near town. Called the "Rose City of Wyoming," Lovell, Wyoming was founded in the late 1800s and is named for Henry Clay Lovell.

Each year in late June, Lovell hosts its annual Mustang Days Celebration. Events include dances, parades, games, a rodeo, the Mustang Follies (variety show), and the crowning of Lovell's Rose Queen.
Big Horn County School District #2 includes the Lovell area. The town has an elementary school (grades 1-6), a junior high school (grades 6-8), and a high school. Northwest College is located 20 miles away in Powell.
