After weather washed out the March 15 meet in Greybull, the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies and Lady Grizz opened the 2008 track and field season at the Yellowstone Sports Medicine Invitational at Cody High School last Thursday, March 20, and turned in some strong results.

The North Big Horn Hospital Board of Trustees approved funds for several different projects at their regular board meeting Tuesday, March 18, but made some changes in spending to stay closer to budget. The hospital also posted a financial loss of $78,000 in February.

When the report of an injured snowmobile rider came in around 5 p.m. last Tuesday, the North Big Horn Search and Rescue squad readied their trucks, sleds, blankets and other equipment for a trip up the Big Horn Mountains. None of them knew it would be a harrowing search that would continue through the night and that severe weather would delay the rescue until daybreak.

Two-hundred years ago, a lone mountain man emerged from the wilderness of northwest Wyoming, having survived a perilous, exploratory trip through the wilds of the Big Horn Basin, the Wind River Basin, Jackson Hole and Yellowstone, bringing with him tales of amazing scenes including hot water and steam gushing from the earth.
