Dorothy Eyre Baird was born June 26, 1921, to Elmer S. and Hope B. Eyre. She died July 27, 2008 in Arlington, Wash.
She was raised on the Eyre farm, attended school in Cowley and graduated from Cowley High School. She had seven brothers and sisters, Carlyle, Rex, Ned, William, Smith, Delma and Leta.
Dorothy was a gentle, sweet person who loved beautiful flowers and played the organ beautifully for more than 50 years. Leta mentioned that when she played it was as if the angels had gathered around her. She was a loving example to all who knew her.

Leo worked for the Louis Welch Construction Co. when they lived in Cowley, and was a construction worker in Washington. The couple raised six children: Wallace Eyre, Ann, Darel Eyre, Lee Eyre, Terry and Peggy.
Dorothy is survived by her husband Leo; her six children; brother Carlyle Eyre; sister Leta Eyre Marchant and many grandchildren, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services and burial were held in Arlington. |
