The Wyoming Public Service Commission will hold a town meeting to discuss winter heating costs in Lovell on Friday, Sept. 19, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the Lovell Community Center, located at 1925 Highway 310.

"With natural gas bills expected to rise an average of over 30 percent compared to last year and more than 70 percent in some areas, people want to know how their rates are set and what they can do to save on energy bills," Commissioner Mary Byrnes said. "The PSC is holding town meetings around the state to make it easier for people to get their questions answered."

Local gas and electric utility representatives will discuss the prices their customers can expect to see in the coming months, their efforts to provide safe, reliable service at reasonable rates and home heating efficiency measures.

Representatives from Department of Family Services and Energy Share of Wyoming will be available to discuss options for customers who have difficulty paying their heating bills and increasing their energy efficiency.

Additional information, including a schedule of other town meetings, is available on the PSC's Web site, http://psc.state.wy.us or by calling the PSC at (307) 777-7427.

The Wyoming Public Service Commission is the state's regulatory agency overseeing utility rates and service. The PSC is based in Cheyenne and is comprised of three commissioners.
