After issuing a record of decision last Tuesday to go ahead with a proposed gather on the Pryor Mountain Wild Horse Range, Bureau of Land Management officials have announced the gather is indefinitely on hold.
BLM Billings Field Office manager Jim Sparks told the Chronicle that plans have been put on hold, but they could still be put into action this season. The environmental assessment put out earlier this year allows the BLM to proceed with the gather, which consists of the bait trapping and removal of up to 38 horses, until March 1. |
