Students at Rocky Mountain High School will look to “RIP the Rebels” Friday night as they continue to celebrate Homecoming 2008 with a variety of activities and athletic events.
Co-sponsor Traci McArthur said there have been various theme days this week, with more events to come, designed to enhance school spirit.
Today (Thursday) is “70s-80s Day” and old-time photos will be taken in the foyer during the day. Seniors will whitewash the RM east of Byron and gather wood for the bonfire.
There are two sporting events on the busy Thursday: the volleyball match with Greybull in Byron with games at 3, 4, and 5 p.m. and the cross country meet at the Foster Gulch Golf Course at 4 p.m.
The annual Navajo taco dinner will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. in the lunchroom. Proceeds from the taco dinner go to the junior class fund to help pay for prom and a future senior class trip. Tickets are $3 for a single serving and $4 for a double serving.
The annual pep rally and bonfire will follow the taco dinner at dusk – around 8 p.m. The Homecoming royalty will be announced during the pep rally.
Friday is “Brown and Gold Day” highlighted by two more athletic contests. The Lady Grizzlies will host Burlington in volleyball action at 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. The Rocky Mountain Grizzlies will then take on the Riverside Rebels on the gridiron at 7 p.m. with the Homecoming royalty crowned at halftime. The Homecoming dance will follow the game from 9 to 12:30 in the lunchroom with music provided by DJ Casey Sorenson.
The Lady Grizzlies will host Shoshoni in volleyball Saturday at 12 and 1 p.m. |
