Memorial graveside services for Leonard James “Jim” Felt, 75, will be held at a later date. Jim died Jan. 6, 2010, at the Manor Care Nursing Home in Naples, Fla., and cremation has taken place. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Support Network, 660 Tamiami Trail North, Suite 21, Naples, FL 34102. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home.
Jim was born Aug. 25, 1934, in Newton, Iowa, to Clyde and Anne (Rapp) Felt. He attended school in Lovell, graduating in 1952. He attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie.
He married Barbara Wilcox on Sept. 3, 1955, and they had four children, James Robert, Lori Ann, Michael and Susan. They were later divorced.
He married Elizabeth “Betty” Backus on Oct. 6, 1972, and they had one son, Steven. He later married Mary Vroom on Dec. 28, 1996.
Jim was an engineer and worked in several states including California, Idaho and Colorado before settling in Pennsylvania. He loved the outdoors: fishing, hunting and especially guns. He belonged to gun clubs wherever he lived and received many trophies through the years. He was kind, loving and had a smile for everyone. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
Jim is survived by his wife Mary of Naples; two daughters, Lori (Frank) Spear of Corinth, Texas, and Susan Brand of Lovell; two sons, James Robert “Jim” (Karyn) Felt and Michael “Mike” Felt, both of Lovell; grandchildren Courtney (Dustin) Stone, Tyler (Leah) Spear, Chandler Spear and others; brother Lawrence “Larry” (Phyllis) Felt of Casper; a sister Carolyn (Royce) Nelson of Torrington; sister-in-law Mary Lou Nadolny of Levittown, Pa.; an aunt and uncle Anna and Albert Rapp of Forsyth, Mont.; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty and son Steven.
