Leonard D. Green

Leonard D. Green, 71, of Lovell died in Las Vegas on April 17, 2008.


Leonard was born to T.G. and Eva Green on Jan. 17, 1937, in Lovell. He attended Lovell schools and graduated from Lovell High School in 1955. He attended Sheridan College.


On Aug. 29, 1958, he married Judy Givenrod of Cowley.
Leonard worked as a sales representative in Montana and Wyoming before returning to Lovell in 1974. He and Judy owned and operated Cowboy Contractors from 1976 until their retirement.


Leonard enjoyed golfing and attending Lovell High School sporting events, especially watching the Lovell Lady Bulldogs. He also enjoyed fishing in Devil’s Canyon, barbecues and serving at the Lovell Mustang Days Barbecue where he could visit with people.


He was a member of the Powell Country Club for many years, a member of the Foster Gulch Golf Course and a member of the Associated General Contractors group. He was a referee and coach for Little League Baseball, a bowler and helped with meal delivery at the North Big Horn Senior Center in Lovell.


He enjoyed his trips to Arizona and Nevada during the winter months.


Leonard is survived by his wife, Judy, of Lovell; sons Steve (Cheryl) Green and Brian (Susan) Green of Lovell; his mother, Eva Asay, and step-father Orvin Asay of Lovell; grandchildren Casey Green of Laramie, T.G. (Tawni) Green of Lovell and Kayla, Stephanie and Beau Green of Lovell; great-grandchildren Chelsi and Kade Green of Lovell; brother Dennis (Jean) Green of Casper; sisters Diane (Gary) Ley of Powell and Geraldine (Tim) Townsend of Cowley; step-brother Scott (Vicky) Asay of Lovell; step-sister Janice Ellis of Cowley and numerous nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lovell Thursday, April 24, at 11 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior to services in the relief society room. Burial will be at the Lovell Cemetery.


Haskell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorialsmay be made to the Lovell Senior Citizens Center.
