Gary Lynn Dover was born to Don and Marilyn Dover on Feb. 15, 1955, in Lovell. He died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at his residence in Worland of complications of extended pulmonary edema.

Gary was an entrepreneurial individual from his youth, mowing lawns, delivering newspapers and establishing the ‘Dover Fireworks’ business at an early age. Gary was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a graduate of Lovell High School and church seminary program. He found great joy in the out-of-doors, and the scouting program provided many opportunities for him to enjoy God’s creations. He was an athlete at Lovell High School, lettering in basketball, football and track. He played the alto saxophone in the band and took piano lessons for many years.

Gary served a two-year mission in the London, England South Mission. Shortly after his return from England in 1977 he married B’linda Brinkerhoff in the Salt Lake Temple and immediately entered pharmacy school at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, graduating in 1981. During his pharmaceutical career he worked in Montana, Wyoming and Utah.

While living in the Salt Lake City area he worked at the Poison Control Center at the University of Utah. This position included teaching pharmacology classes at the university. Later he taught a pharmacy intern course at Salt Lake City Community College. Gary found great joy in teaching and was a constant teacher to his children and grandchildren.

Gary’s career included driving cross country for a trucking company. His goal was to drive through each of the continental states. He drove from one coast to the other, generally having a member of his family with him. He also drove cement trucks for a large construction company in Utah. Gary moved his family back to Lovell, where he worked for the National Park Service. His family commented they weren’t sure if he worked or laughed more while at the Park Service. He made great friends there, and always came home with great stories to share.

Gary was a great fix-it man. He could repair and fix most everything that needed it. One of his great fix-its loves was the 1967 Chevelle he was restoring with his son, Kord. He was a lover of motorcycles, owning many through the years. He loved collecting coins from the time he was small. The bank employees were pretty patient with Gary as he exchanged roll after roll of coins to search through to fill the slots in his coin books. As a child he was also a collector of matchbook cars.

Gary is survived by his parents, James Donald and Marilyn Hansen Dover of Lovell; brothers Gregg Hansen Dover of Lovell and Bret Hansen Dover (Patti) of Pocatello, Idaho; his wife, B’linda B. Dover, and children Lyndi Sue Crippen (Jeremy) of Worland, Kira Dewsnup (Patrick) of Salt Lake City, Kord B. Dover of Powell, Samantha Dover of Casper, and McKay Dover of Worland; and granddaughters Saibrynn, Tymberlynn and Kalistynn Crippen of Worland.

Services were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center in Lovell at 11 a.m., Monday, May 5, 2008. Burial was in the Lovell Cemetery.
