Boyd W. Wilson, 80, passed away peacefully at his home in Cowley January 7, 2022. 

He was born September 4, 1941, in Lovell to Charles A. Wilson and Mildred Whitmore. He grew up and attended school in Cowley. He worked on the Wilson farm/ranch, did construction and was a mechanic all his life. 

He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His favorite pastime was raising and sharing his huge garden. Most days he could be found happily puttering around on his shiny new tractor.

He joined the Army in 1965 and was stationed in Germany and then enlisted in the Wyoming Army National Guard in 1976 as a sergeant.

Boyd married Barbara Croft in November 1958. They had two sons together, Randall and Wesley Guy. They later divorced.

He married Sally George in June 1962. Together they had Cheryl, Scott and Michael. They later divorced. 

Boyd is survived by longtime companion Kola Hein; mother Mildred Scott; sons Randall Watts, Wesley Guy Watts, Scott Wilson and Michael (Sandy) Wilson; daughter Cheryl (Bruce) Jolley; sisters Diane Durtsche and Lori (Darrel) Schultz; brothers Wes Wilson, Kim (Lisa) Wilson, John (Suzanne) Wilson, Tim Roberts and John Blodgett; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by grandparents Ray and Harriet Wilson, parents Charles and Lou Wilson, brother Fred Whitmore, sister Nancy Lou Wilson and grandson Reo Guy Watts.

Per his request no funeral services were held. A celebration of life gathering was held Saturday, Jan. 15, with many friends and family attending.

Cremation has taken place. Cremains will be placed in Cowley Cemetery at a later date. Haskell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
