Jerry George Tippetts

Jerry George Tippetts, 74, died on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at North Big Horn Hospital in Lovell. He was born on March 4, 1937 in Lovell to George Milford Tippetts and Vaughn Harshbarger Tippetts.Jerry married Loretta Jane Harrison on May 31, 1958. Together they had three children, Shelly, Cherie and Amy.He graduated from Lovell High School in 1956. After graduating, Jerry worked with his father and twin brother Gerry on the family dairy farm. Jerry also worked on farms in the area. In 1965, he went to meat cutting school in Toledo, Ohio. He then worked as a meat cutter for IGA, Food Farm and Big Horn Processing until his retirement.Jerry enjoyed rock hunting, fishing and hunting. He was an avid volunteer on the Pryor Mountains, with the BLM Watch Group. He enjoyed videotaping and checking on the wild horses on the Pryors.Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, George Milford Tippetts, and Vaughn Harshbarger Tippetts, his daughter Amy Jo Tippetts Wright and grandson Joshua Morgan May.Survivors include his wife and daughters Shelly (Britt) Lohof and Cherie Trautman, all of Lovell; sister Sandra (Bob) Dodds of Leaburg, Ore.; twin brother Gerry (Rose Mae) of Lovell; grandchildren Cori (Allen) Thompson of Sheridan, Crystal and Jacob Lohof of Lovell, Casey and Codee Trautman of Lovell and great-grandchildren Joshua and Carsyn Thompson of Sheridan and Ryder Ehresmann of Lovell.Visitation and services were held at St John’s Lutheran Church on Saturday, Oct. 8. He was buried at the Lovell Cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
