Lovell FFA Chapter to visit LES during FFA week

FFA chapters across the nation will be celebrating National FFA Week, Feb. 15 - 22. This event officially kicks off on Presidents’ Day by recognizing two premier leaders, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. The Lovell FFA will be visiting the students at Lovell Elementary School, painting business windows, hosting a teacher appreciation lunch and taking part in different activities throughout the week. The Lovell FFA Chapter has been very busy this year. At the end of October, the chapter officers attended the 86th National Convention in Louisville. The members who attended gained valuable knowledge and leadership skills through tours, motivational speakers and workshops. In November, members attended the FIRE and CPC Conferences in Gillette. In January, some members were even able to attend our annual trip to the National Western Stock Show in Denver, seeing multiple livestock shows and other local attractions. They funded this trip by holding a hog raffle. In March, the FFA will be traveling all over the state going to many different CDE contests in preparation for the highest level of competition at state convention in April.  As the school year winds down, we will hold our annual FFA awards banquet on May 6 to recognize the hard work of all our members. The members of the Lovell FFA Chapter appreciate all of the support from our community. The group would also like to say thank you to their parent support group, who has helped fund some of the FFA events this year. For more about the FFA organization please visit FFA.org. The Lovell FFA Chapter also has a page on Facebook, as well as the parent support group page (Parents and Friends of the Lovell Blue Jackets).Happy National FFA Week!By Sami Stevens, Chapter Reporter
