Lovell High School to graduate 48 Monday

Lovell High School will honor a class of 48 when the school holds its 96th annual commencement exercises for the Class of 2015 next Monday, May 18, at 7 p.m. at the LHS Johnny Winterholler Gymnasium.

There will be no commencement speaker again this year. Rather, the class has prepared a video about their experience at LHS.

The program will begin with the traditional processional “Pomp and Circumstance” played by the Lovell high school and middle school bands, directed by Jessica Schreiner.

After the students take their seats, LHS Principal Scott O’Tremba will lead the Pledge of Allegiance and welcome the students and family members, followed by the salutatory address by Angelina Hutzenbiler and the valedictory address by Emilee Reasch, Justin Mickelson and Zeke Collins.

School board vice-chairman Marianne Grant will give retirement presentations, Supt. Rick Woodford will present the senior class and the board will present diplomas to the graduating seniors as Chairman Bruce Jolley reads the names of the graduates.

“Ode to Joy” will be the recessional, played by the combined bands.

Grad Night Out

Seniors are invited to the annual Grad Night Out party at the Lovell Community Center following the commencement ceremonies.

Organizer Renae Miller said the party is entitled “A Redneck Hootenanny” and will feature a redneck/hillbilly theme.

Graduates will check in from 9 to 9:30 p.m. for food, music and games with each senior allowed to bring one guest. The doors will be closed at 9:30. Bowling will be held at Rose City Lanes from 12 to 1:30 a.m., followed by a “redneck food challenge” and the Redneck Games, with the winner being crowned the “ultimate redneck.”

Breakfast will be served around 4 a.m., followed by the announcement of the major prizes including an iPad, TV, mini-refrigerator, bicycle and cash.

The Grad Night Out Committee includes Miller, Kirsten Bryson, Stephanie Brimhall, Jaime Luna, Kim Wilson, Amber May and Sharae Bischoff.
