100 Years AgoThe Cowley Weekly ProgressDecember 7, 1912The beautiful opera, “The Merry Milkmaids,” drew a record-breaking house Thursday night. Never before in Cowley’s history has the hall’s capacity been taxed as on this occasion. Prof. Burgener was fairly stormed with congratulations over the splendid success of the first opera ever presented here.75 Years AgoThe Lovell ChronicleDecember 9, 1937Construction work on a municipal skating rink for local kiddies is going on. The project is being sponsored jointly by the Lions Club and the Commercial Club. It is located on vacant lots on Depot Street. A supervised rink will be a real addition to the town and will provide a recreation center for the children that is much needed.50 Years AgoThe Lovell ChronicleDecember 6, 1962The Lovell Town Council has come to the point where they are sick of spending sleeping hours on the telephone listening to the complaints of residents about dogs which are keeping them awake and destroying property. Dogs with annual licenses will be impounded, where the owner can expect to pay a fine. Those without licenses will be sent to the K-9 boot hill.25 Years AgoThe Lovell ChronicleDecember 10, 1987Lovell High School senior Shelly Gams, a varsity member of the Lovell volleyball team, has been named a member of the coaches’ 2-A All-State Volleyball Team. Coach Ina Hubbell felt she was a good all-around player and very deserving of the honor.
