Randy Lee Graham

Randy Lee Graham

July 5, 1954 – March 13, 2023

Randy Lee Graham, 68, passed from this life to join his heavenly father on March 13, 2023.

He was born July 5, 1954, in Lovell to Victor Elon and Norma Jane Collingwood Graham. Randy spent his life being an avid hunter and fisherman. This was instilled in him from his parents, who were also very enthusiastic outdoor people.

Randy attended school in Lovell and was very interested in science and chemistry. Upon graduation, he enrolled at Northwest Community College and received his associate degree, then attained his master’s degree from the University of Wyoming in animal science.

Randy worked for the state of Wyoming in the field of predator control for about six years. He then went back to the University of Wyoming and attained another master’s degree, this time in nursing. He then put his knowledge to work, taking a job in the field he loved as a nurse at North Big Horn Hospital. He primarily worked in the care center Alzheimer’s unit for a couple of years.

A position came open at NWCC as a nurse instructor, so Randy jumped on that opportunity. He absolutely loved that position. A lot of the nurses who cared for him in his end times were students of his. Randy’s hearing deteriorated, so he had to resign his teaching position at the college, which broke his heart.

Randy then put his knowledge in animal science to work and started a small buffalo herd on a parcel of land he bought. This appealed to his ancestry, which was 1/32 Native American. While raising his buffalo, he also drove school bus for the Lovell School District.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Michal.

He is survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, daughter Jessica and two grandchildren.

It was Randy’s wishes that there would be no formal funeral and that his cremains would be buried in the family plot in the Lovell Cemetery. It was also his wishes that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to North Big Horn Hospital.

Haskell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
