Tomasa Rodriguez Gutierrez

Tomasa Rodriguez Gutierrez, 86, of Lovell passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021, at New Horizons Care Center. She was born on December 29, 1934, to Eusebio and Ramona Varela Rodriguez.

Tomasa attended school in Lovell and lived in Lovell until her passing. During her life in Lovell she worked at the canning factory and the sugar factory. She married Fidencio Gutierrez. Her pride and joy was her son, Gabriel “Gabe” Gutierrez.

Her main priority in life was taking care of her parents, siblings and various nieces and nephews. Tomasa enjoyed visiting with family and cooking for them. She also enjoyed getting to travel to visit her family in Mexico, California, Montana, Minnesota, Washington and many other places.

Tomasa was preceded in death by her parents, Eusebio Rodriguez and Ramona Varela Rodriguez; brothers Frank Rodriguez, Sam Rodriguez and Lyle Franco; and sisters Andrea and Marina Rodriguez.

She is survived by her husband, Fidencio Gutierrez of Lovell, son Gabriel Gutierrez of Lovell, brother Alex Rodriguez Sr. of Lovell, sisters Camilla R. Rodriguez of California and Ramona (Ramon) Frias of Powell, and many, many nieces and nephews. 

A Rosary/viewing was held on Thursday, Dec. 2, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, Dec. 3, at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment was in the Lovell Cemetery.
