Letter to the Editor: Being pulled over randomly has happened long before Trump

Dear Editor,

Addressing Kat Vuletich’s letter to the editor, she mentioned her son driving a beet truck and being pulled over for no reason. That has happened to me five times at least.

When I was in the Navy in Charleston, South Carolina, I and everybody in that lane was pulled over and checked for drunk driving. In Norfolk, Virginia, at a Navy reunion I and everybody in that lane was pulled over and checked for drunk driving.

In Cody, Wyoming, I was pulled over and had to do a sobriety test, with my wife and young children watching, for what, I don’t know. In California going to San Diego, I was pulled over for an immigration check. Going to Las Cruces, New Mexico, I was once again pulled over for immigration check.

All these checks happened well before I ever heard of Donald Trump. Don’t tell me people getting pulled over for no reason is something new in the Trump administration.

My father and I were fishing in the Wind River Canyon years ago. Just as we entered the canyon on a big pullout area the Wyoming Highway Patrol pulled over every truck and checked their weight and maybe other items. Again, well before Trump was heard of.

What does Kat use for citizenship papers? I don’t have any citizenship papers nor did my parents. I’ve never been asked about citizenship papers ever. I have a driver’s license, nothing about citizenship there. I have a birth certificate and Navy discharge papers. No citizenship indication there.

Maybe if blue states worked with ICE and handed over criminal illegal aliens instead of releasing them back into the community, law enforcement would be much easier. But blue states would rather house and feed illegal aliens at taxpayers’ expense.

I don’t believe ICE is dragging citizens out of schools, hospitals, etc. This probably happens on MSNBC, ABC news, NBC news and CNN. Look at the crimes illegal aliens have committed and are released in blue states. If you or I committed these crimes we would be jerked out of wherever we were.
