The Lovell freshman basketball squads split with Cody on Tuesday night at Johnny Winterholler Gymnasium.
The Lady Bulldogs secured a 43-22 victory over the Fillies behind some solid all-around play.
Celeste Lindsay paved the way by powering in 13 points. Kaydree Owens added 10, Hannity Felkins had 8 and Kandace Asay finished with 6. Kira Collins, Kindle Collins and Brooklin Clark scored 2 apiece.
“It was a good win, and there were several things that we can build off of for the future,” coach Dan Wolvington said after the game. “I was proud of our effort.”
The freshman boys hustled and battled the entire game but came up short, 47-40, to the Broncs.
Cash Wassmer led the way with an impressive 17-point performance for the Bulldogs. Sam Mayes scored 9, Jackson Clark added 6, Declan Mayes finished with 3 and Wilson Hendershot had 2 points for the Bulldogs.
“The first half we came out a little tight and wound up,” freshmen coach Michael Jameson said. “After halftime, we relaxed and played much better. I was pleased with the overall hustle and effort the boys played with, and as we settle into our offense I expect to be more successful.”
There is a freshman tournament in Lovell this Saturday. The Lady Bulldogs play Powell

The Bulldogs will take on Powell at 10:30 a.m., Big Horn at 4:30 p.m. and Worland at 6 p.m., all in Johnny Winterholler Gym.
